Northwesterly winds met the fleet as they headed out to the fishing grounds the first day of Peregrine Lodge’s tenth trip of the season. Despite the breeze, the light cloud cover provided much needed protection from the sun and kept the warm air close to the fishing grounds. The ever-busy fishing hole around Parker Point [...]

The gray skies overhead did nothing to dampen Peregrine’s newest group of guests’ enthusiasm as they headed out of Naden Harbour on the morning of July 5th. The anticipation of catching the ‘big one’ was overwhelming. Already rumours of great fishing conditions on the fishing grounds outside Naden Harbour had whipped them into a frenzy [...]

Good sea conditions, tight schools of coho with halibut and ling cod mixed in defined the trip.
The coho were concentrated in the west in tight schools feeding on the large amount of bait.
A number of humpback whales were feasting on the bait schools, giving the fleet some great whale watching.

With the winds coming in from the northwest it brought in bait and large Chinooks. This was a great trip with 74 Chinook’s retained and 17 released. With the Chinook fishing being hot so were the tyees 14 over 30lbs and 4 over 40lbs and 1 at 58lbs released by Michael Norman fantastic. Coho fishing [...]

The hot sunny weather continues with our guests enjoying the blue skies.
Lots of great coho fishing with some nice 13lb , 14lb, and 15lb fish coming in from Edenshaw and Green Point.
Some great halibut fishing too with a nice 39lb caught offshore. Our guests enjoyed great chinook fishing also with 9 tyee’s and 3 of [...]
