This is our last trip for the season, the weather cooperated for us and Coho were still showing up in strong numbers,halibut numbers were also good. The largest halibut a 73lb caught by Tom Nellis, Chinook were also strong for our last trip with the largest being a nice 30lb caught by Evan Jouber.

Good sea conditions, tight schools of coho with halibut and ling cod mixed in defined the trip.
The coho were concentrated in the west in tight schools feeding on the large amount of bait.
A number of humpback whales were feasting on the bait schools, giving the fleet some great whale watching.

The sea’s were calm for this trip, with some very large coho showing up. The lodge record a 22lb. coho that stood for 15 years was broken when Chris Weber landed a 24lb coho, what a great fish. Lots of coho in the 14lb to 16lb size are showing up.

Tough fishing conditions with strong westerly and big sea’s, lots of coho present for the first day making it tough to get the chinook that were in the mix.

Good weather allowed for fishing in all area’s, Cape Edenshaw and Green point saw an abundance of coho, while Snake rock, Parker Point and Cape Naden had a few less coho , increasing your opportunity for springs that were mixed in with the coho’s. Our fourth trip of the season continues to produce good spring fishing, also strong numbers of coho are showing and of course halibut is steady. Over the past ten days the Peregrine Lodge staff have been getting everything ready forĀ the new season. They have enjoyed warm, dry weather.
Yesterday, our guides tested the waters with excellent results. 30 Springs were retained and 3 released. They also hooked several Halibut. It looks like we’re in a for a great season.
